Life is a juggling act fraught with emotional ups and downs. How well you juggle your roles and responsibilities and how well you manage the emotional pushing and shoving of daily life will determine how happily you live your life.
It is very important to me that I ‘walk my talk’. I am passionate about maintaining a healthy work-life balance and encouraging the same in others.
I’m certainly not flawless, but some things I do very well. I started this blog to share my personal experiences and in doing so, I hope to encourage you to focus on what is really important in your life too.
I am told that it’s my imperfections and my genuine love of people that make me a great coach. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t; but I think my most powerful trait is that once I’ve made my mind up to do something, I can be relied on to stick with it. And that applies to sticking with friends and clients through thick and thin.
When I was a kid, I decided I was going to complete the annual Sydney City2Surf fun run for 50 years in a row. I’m not there yet, because there haven’t been 50 City2Surf runs yet. But, I have done all of them so far (that’s 39) and the only thing that will stop me will be something out of my control.
The focus I apply in my sporting life is the same focus that I apply to my clients and my work.
“We grew up with a philosophy that it isn’t the winning that is important, it is the taking part, but what I’ve discovered over time is, that it is the taking part that makes you the winner.”
