Introduction to a routine
Posted on May 25, 2009 in City2Surf, Lifting Your Game | 0 commentsMy City2Surf training program actually starts 10 weeks before the event, but I generally start planning my schedule about it 11 beforehand.
my role as personal development coach, my clients do a variety of goal setting exercises, and often they plan to start something in a few weeks time. I generally say to them, ‘why not start now? If this is your goal, why put it off?’
So that is the reason why this extra week of training. As soon as I work out my training schedule, I act on it immediately.
Week 11 is a training warm-up week. The principle is to begin to get your body started on an exercise routine. The real work begins in week 10.
There are only three slow walk/jog sessions on week 11 plus I also recommend a gym session to work on your core and upper body strength.
