The Inaugural Run 4 The Brain
Posted on Nov 9, 2010 in Doing Now | 0 commentsLast year I went to a friend’s wedding; a celebration of life, of happiness, of love and devotion.
Within months, my friend’s new husband was diagnosed with a tumour on the brain and given months to live. He underwent surgery and is of course, still having chemotherapy.
Earlier this year, his wife decided to do something to say thank you to those who do such good work and she decided to organise a fun-run to raise money for brain cancer research.

She had never staged anything like this before, yet she tackled the process with vigour and determination. The result was ‘Run 4 The Brain’ which attracted around 550 participants and raised close to $75,000.
Calling on friends for assistance, I spent the morning working as a race marshal directing runners and attempting to slow down morning bike riders that came swooping along the path straight into the oncoming runners.
Well-done Tracey. I hope the event continues for years to come.
