Pets in the office
An office should be all business – right? We’ve found that there is something very calming about having a pets around in the office. Our local club has a very large fish tank as a dividing wall. Apart from the fact that kids all want to go over and watch the fish, it has a subconsciously calming effect on patrons. Fish tanks are great for areas such as the doctor’s waiting room or any other area where patrons must spend some time and may be stressed or frustrated. One of the benefits of working from a home office is that if...

I feel so invigorated this morning. When I did my morning jog around the lake there was an awesome mix of weather conditions. My world was bathed in patches of sunlight. I jogged around the lake in sunshine and marveled at the brilliant rainbow that stood out against the ominous dark clouds. Looking across the sunlit lake, the town and the colourful Autumn foliage on the trees in the foreground, contrasted so brilliantly that the sleet drifting around only added to the magic of the moment. Frankly, I’m not shocked by this announcement, the US auto industry has been struggling for a long time and IMHO, Chrysler have made some pretty unappealing offerings in recent years. I do have a soft spot for the brand, as my first car was a 1938 Chrysler Plymouth (which is now in storage and hasn’t been driven since 1985) but when it has come to...

What did I do last week? What date is it today anyway? That is how I felt this morning. I know I’ve been doing things, but where did the last two weeks go? The signs are there – I need to refocus I usually start five out of every seven days with some form of exercise, either a weights session at the gym or an early morning jog or a walk. As I did my jog this morning, it occurred to me that somewhere in the last few weeks, I’d lost my focus. Once I realised that I had lost my focus, I started thinking about exactly when this...
